Carvoeiro turns black and white for popular party

Beach turns into open-air disco from midnight onwards

It’s almost time for the 11th edition of the party that every year pulls thousands of revellers to the western Algarve: the Carvoeiro Black & White Night.

Taking place this Saturday (June 21), the event was launched in 2014 and has grown into a major summer party attended by around 30,000 people.

The event is famous for painting the village black and white, while visitors are highly encouraged to dress in only black and white.

Almost every corner of the picturesque village has some attraction to discover on this special night, with multiple stages and themed areas offering everything from live music to magic acts and screenings of silent films from 8.30pm all the way to 3am.

Meanwhile, the beach turns into an open-air disco from midnight onwards.

To avoid parking issues and bottlenecks caused by large crowds, free shuttle buses will run between Carvoeiro and key parking areas including Fatacil, Intermarché, Apolónia, Aldi, and Gramital, operating continuously 6pm to 4am.

Described as a “celebration of culture, music and summer energy,” the event promises to turn Carvoeiro into a “vibrant stage for unforgettable experiences,” organisers say.
