‘Albufeira Classics’ will be held this weekend in several spots around the municipality
Dozens of classic cars will be displayed throughout Albufeira this weekend (May 24-25) as part of an event that is promising to attract car lovers from all over the country.
Organised by Portugal Classic Cars and the Clube Português de Automóveis Antigos, with backing from the municipal council of Albufeira, ‘Albufeira Classics’ will shine a special spotlight on high-performance classics.
The action kicks off on Friday, May 24, at 10am, with the main exhibition at Praça dos Pescadores. Visitors can expect themed zones featuring standout models from the 1920s through to the golden age of sports cars. At 11am, live music will begin, with the highlight being a performance from The Lighthousers at 2pm. Then, at 3pm, the engines roar to life with a classic car parade along Avenida dos Descobrimentos. The day wraps up at 6pm.
On Saturday, May 25, participants will set off on a scenic drive through the region, passing through Olhos d’Água and Ferreiras, before regrouping back at Praça dos Pescadores by 11am. A winners’ parade kicks off at 12pm, reopening the exhibition to the public. After lunch, the event closes with a prize ceremony at 3pm, a concert by The Jukeboxers, and the final farewell at 5pm.
More than 100 classic vehicles are already confirmed for the 2025 edition, making this one of the biggest classic car gatherings in the Iberian Peninsula.
Admission is free.
Mayor José Carlos Rolo says the event is not just about catering to car lovers – it’s also about putting Albufeira on the map.
“It helps showcase the very best of what our town has to offer,” he said, adding that Albufeira is fast becoming a meeting point for motorsport enthusiasts. He pointed to the success of the Motofest earlier this month as proof.
