Families looking for an Easter getaway in the Algarve will find a packed programme of festive-themed food and activities at the Viceroy at Ombria Algarve this April.
“This Easter, Viceroy at Ombria Algarve is inviting families and friends to celebrate the arrival of spring within a unique setting, where nature, traditions and moments of sharing come together in the heart of the Algarve landscape,” the hotel says in a statement.
One of the highlights is the Easter Market, running from April 3 to April 5 between 4pm and 7pm. Open to guests and the general public, the market will feature local artisans and producers showcasing handmade goods and regional products in the hotel’s main square.
Food will also take centre stage throughout the week. At the Ombria Kitchen restaurant, guests and the general public can enjoy menus inspired by Portuguese traditions and seasonal ingredients. On Good Friday (April 3), the focus shifts to fish and seafood dishes, which “celebrate the strong link of Portuguese culture to the sea”. On Easter Sunday (April 5), the resort will host a festive buffet lunch designed for families and groups, featuring a wide selection of spring dishes and traditional desserts. Children will also be able to take part in an Easter egg hunt during the day.
The programme includes hands-on experiences such as a traditional Easter Folar workshop, which will teach participants how to make Portugal’s famous Easter bread. There will also be a chocolate egg-making session, where participants can learn techniques from the resort’s pastry team, such as tempering, moulding and decorating chocolate.
There will also be wellness activities, including yoga and pilates sessions at the spa, alongside a dedicated programme for children at the Kids Club, with games, crafts and themed activities.
The full programme can be consulted on the hotel’s website, under “Experiences”.
