The municipal council of Faro is calling on all residents, workers, and students to take part in a survey that will help shape the city’s Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (Plano de Mobilidade Urbana Sustentável, or PMUS).
This “strategic initiative” builds on the 2018 Mobility and Transport Plan and aims to make daily travel in Faro safer, easier and more environmentally sustainable.
The survey is open to everyone and will inform concrete measures to improve road safety, public transport, pedestrian and cycling networks, and the overall quality of urban mobility. Citizens can participate via the online form here (in Portuguese).
The PMUS is designed to reduce transport-related emissions, encourage walking, cycling, and public transport, and make Faro’s streets more accessible and enjoyable.
Faro’s municipal council stresses that community input is essential: “Everyone’s contribution is essential to build more efficient, safe and sustainable mobility.”
