Faro municipal pools to close for “at least 18 months”

Renovations will address technical issues affecting air and water quality

Faro’s municipal pools are closing temporarily due to technical issues affecting air and water quality, made even worse by the building’s severe deterioration, which will require urgent structural renovations.

In a statement, the municipal council admits the decision impacts local sports clubs and community users, adding that measures are being prepared to support affected clubs and provide alternatives for senior activities.

Renovation works are expected to last at least 18 months.
