InDireita Street Fest brings Portimão to life

InDireita Street Fest was created in 2024 and has blossomed into a hugely popular event

Portimão’s busy street Rua Direita will close to traffic all day on Sunday, September 28 for the fifth edition of InDireita Street Fest.

The event, created in 2024 by local association P.O.I.S., has become a major success, bringing the historic centre of Portimão to life with live performances, food stalls, creative workshops, a handicraft fair, a veggie market and many other attractions. Several stores along the street also open their doors especially for the event. Acro Yoga – a physical practice that combines elements of Yoga and acrobatics – will be the special theme of this month’s edition.

“The initiative has already become a regular meeting point in the historic centre of Portimão, strengthening ties between the population, artists and local traders,” the municipal council of Portimão says in a statement.

Running from 10am to 10pm, InDireita Street Fest is held four times per year on the last Sunday of March, June, September and December.

Admission is free.
