Socialist mayor Hugo Pereira (PS) has been re-elected as mayor of Lagos and will retain majority control of the municipal council following a solid victory on Sunday.
With 42% of the votes (5,522), Pereira finished significantly ahead of the PSD-CDS right-wing coalition (22.91%, 3,012) and far-right party CHEGA (20.12%, 2,646).
Four municipal seats will go to PS, three to PSD-CDS and one to CHEGA.
