Signature flavours, impeccable service, and an ambience like no other – discover dining with a difference at Vale do Lobo.
The Algarve’s renowned Vale do Lobo resort has launched three experiential new restaurants, as international appetite for immersive dining experiences expands hugely. The new openings cement the internationally acclaimed resort’s position as the Algarve’s go-to destination for diverse, high-quality and on-trend culinary experiences.
Grand View Research projects that the culinary tourism market, estimated to have a value of USD 11.5 billion in 2023, will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 19.9% from 2024 to 2030. Meanwhile, Acorn Tourism’s research report for Mintel finds that 95% of tourists seek a positive food activity whilst on holiday and 75% select their destination based on some form of culinary activity.
At Vale do Lobo, this deep connection between food, culture and experience is celebrated through a range of immersive dining experiences, catering to every taste and every moment. Last year, three new restaurants opened, presenting a rich and varied journey through traditional and modern Portuguese dishes. Now, three more brand-new restaurants are taking diners’ tastebuds on a tour of exquisite global flavours.
From families and groups to younger guests and discerning food lovers, every diner at Vale do Lobo can enjoy a gastronomic experience that surprises and delights. The new Smash Sports Bar is perfect for family meals, with a ‘healthylicious’ modern European menu packed with flavour. The spacious terrace overlooking the swimming pool and tennis and padel courts, along with the airy indoor area, offer a convivial, relaxed atmosphere filled with sunshine holiday vibes.

Vale do Lobo’s continued investment in lifestyle excellence and the evolution of its gastronomic offering has also resulted in the launch of Barlume Vale do Lobo. The first Barlume in Europe and the first beachside venue for the brand, the restaurant’s world-class Mediterranean-concept food blends the sophistication of a night out in New York with the glorious setting of Vale do Lobo’s Praça. Refined flavours and an outstanding wine list pair with unique dining areas – including an interior bar, dining area, lounge and spacious outdoor terrace – to deliver elegant evening meals and a DJ for dancing into the early hours.
Continuing the resort’s reputation for making every meal an experience is El Ta’koy, which brings the exceptional flavours of the Pacific to Vale do Lobo’s Praça. Celebrated chef Luise Pous brings his extensive experience of Hawaiian cuisine to the shores of the Algarve, with signature dishes including Ahi Tuna Tartare Taquitos with Caviar and Salmon Tiradito and beautifully crafted island rum cocktails. The elevated Sunset Terrace offers diners a particularly memorable setting for special occasions and VIP experiences.
Eduardo Johnston da Silva, Vale do Lobo Managing Director, comments: “Vale do Lobo’s incredible array of dining experiences are a central part of what makes spending time at the resort so special. The care and passion that go into every mouthful we serve are second to none, and we are thrilled to welcome guests to so many new and exciting experiential dining venues this summer.”
