A new dining experience that will allow clients to enjoy a meal made by a chef from a Michelin-starred restaurant aboard a yacht off the coast of the Algarve has been unveiled by Carvoeiro’s Bon Bon restaurant.
The experiene can be enjoyed aboard the 21-metre long Sunseeker Manhattan 65, which has a capacity for 12 people.
Says chef Louis Anjo, the boat has “the necesarry conditions for a service of excellence.
“The goal is to provide an experience worthy of a restaurant with a Michelin star, but aboard a yacht and with the Algarve coastline as a backdrop,” he told Barlavento newspaper.
Nuno Diogo, manager of Bon Bon, says that the idea is to provide a “unique experience with privacy, peace and quiet, far away from crowds.
He explained to Barlavento that the restaurants wants to “help promote the Algarve, in this case with a haute cuisine gastronomic tourist initiative” which he says taps into a niche no one has explored yet in the Algarve and which is already popular in places such as Saint-Tropez (France).
A day-long experience on the yacht costs €6,500 or €31,000 for a full week. A three-hour experience can also be booked for €1,200. The ‘gourmet catering experience’ is available all year long.

New menu at Bon Bon
A new summer-inspired degustation menu, ‘Essência’ (Essence), has been unveiled at Bon Bon in Carvoeiro.
Promising to delight even the most refined palates, the menu features mouthwatering dishes such as tuna “toro” with shrimp, basil and tomato dashi; blue lobster with beetroot, saffron and tangerine; red mullet with liver sauce, tomato ‘migas’ and Iberian ham; beef sirloin with tongue, turnip and watercress; and Algarve almond with honey, lavender and muscatel.
“The menu is the result of an incessant search for the best combination of flavours and it proposes more than just a trip around the Algarve, but around all of Portugal,” the restaurant’s marketing department says in a statement.
Head chef Louis Anjos has been at the helm of Bon Bon since 2018 and is one of the youngest chefs in charge of a Michelin-starred restaurant.
For his second year at the restaurant, he wanted to present a more “creative and ambitious menu”.
The menu can be ordered in a four, five or six-course format for the price of €98, €120 and €130. Wine pairing is not included.
