Last Saturday evening, Authentic Restaurant marked a significant milestone – its first anniversary – with an unforgettable night of fine dining, live entertainment, and celebration.
One year on from its debut, the restaurant has already carved out a name for itself in the region’s highly competitive culinary landscape. With a full terrace, a four-course gastronomic journey, and a very entertaining performance from the West End Jersey Boys, Authentic’s anniversary made a bold statement.
The celebration was a great reflection of what the restaurant stands for: elegance, flavour, and experience. With renowned Chef Ricardo Luz at the helm, the evening’s menu was a true reflection of his skill and creativity in the kitchen. Guests were treated to a carefully curated four-course meal that began with exquisite starters, followed by a refined fish course, and a sumptuous main of Beef Loin – all executed to an impeccable standard.
As glasses clinked and the evening went on, the terrace buzzed with energy. Locals and visitors alike soaked in the atmosphere, which was elevated even further by the headline entertainment. The West End Jersey Boys – stars of London’s West End – lit up the evening with a nostalgic and electrifying performance, drawing cheers, singalongs, and even a few dance moves. It was, in every sense, a night to remember.
“It has been a year filled with many challenges,” owner Miguel Sequeira shared, reflecting on the journey so far. “But we managed to achieve the goals we had set. That makes this moment even more rewarding.”
Miguel and Victoria’s inspiration for opening Authentic came from a deep-rooted love of global discovery. “After traveling the world and discovering many wonderful places, I wanted to bring something unique and outstanding to the region,” he said. “I believed Quinta do Lago deserved something special – something truly authentic.”
From day one, Authentic has lived up to its name. “We were guided toward choosing the name that best reflects our vision: Authentic,” Miguel explained. “From the construction, decoration, cuisine, and even the seasonings, we wanted the essence of authenticity to shine through.”
Indeed, that vision has resonated not just with Miguel and his team, but with a growing and loyal clientele who have embraced the restaurant’s warm hospitality and commitment to providing something genuinely Authentic.
“Our clients are the most meaningful part of our journey,” Miguel said. “Every comment we receive from them becomes a lasting part of the restaurant’s history. We take their feedback seriously and use it as a tool to evolve – always aiming to improve while never losing sight of who we are.”
For many first-year businesses, staffing can be one of the toughest challenges. But Miguel speaks of his team with unmistakable pride. “I consider myself blessed and truly satisfied with the team I have built over the past year,” he said.
Looking ahead, Miguel remains grounded and focused on the path forward. “What’s next for the restaurant in its second year? Consolidation and natural growth,” he said. “We want to keep doing what we do best, but always improving. Customer satisfaction will remain our top priority.”
In a region known for its luxury, Authentic has managed to stand out not by being flashier, but by being exactly what its name promises: real and rooted.
Happy anniversary, Authentic. Here’s to many more.
