Vila Vita Biergarten, in Porches, Algarve, welcomes the white asparagus season with a dedicated menu.
With the arrival of spring, Vila Vita Biergarten once again highlights one of the season’s most appreciated ingredients: white asparagus. To mark the occasion, the restaurant presents its Asparagus Season, featuring a special menu that celebrates this delicate delicacy, typical of Central European cuisine.
Inspired by German tradition – where white asparagus takes centre stage at this time of year – the Biergarten invites guests to enjoy an authentic gastronomic experience in a relaxed, typically Bavarian atmosphere.
Chef Marhareta Guerreiro’s creations showcase the versatility of this ingredient, combining classic flavours with a contemporary touch.
Menu highlights include velvety white asparagus soup with croutons and wild garlic oil, asparagus salad with low-temperature egg, hazelnut and mustard pickles, as well as the traditional asparagus with potatoes and hollandaise sauce — which can be accompanied by ham, marinated salmon or grilled veal loin — and the traditional Maultaschen, typical of southern Germany and described as “German ravioli.” The chef reinterprets it with a lighter, seasonal version aligned with the Asparagus Season.
“White asparagus is a very special ingredient, associated with the beginning of April and widely used in many dishes, especially in Germany. We want to bring this tradition to the Biergarten, offering our guests an authentic experience where they can enjoy the delicate flavour of asparagus through dishes that transport us to German gastronomy, in an environment where good food meets the pleasure of sharing a meal,” says chef Marhareta Guerreiro.
Light, fresh and perfect for mild days, the dishes are designed to pair with well-chilled draft beers, delivering a true Biergarten experience. Guests can enjoy a selection of German beers, as well as Porches Craft Beer, Vila Vita Parc’s own craft beer, whose latest IPA (Indian Pale Ale) features tropical aromas and refreshing notes.
The Asparagus Season is available for both in-house and external guests, with free parking.
