A new co-working space opened on April 1 in Praia da Rocha, bringing flexible work options to one of the Algarve’s busiest coastal areas.
The centre, operated by International Workplace Group (IWG) under its HQ brand, is located on Avenida Comunidade Lusíadas and offers around 140 workstations across 749 square metres.

The space includes 12 private offices, meeting rooms, co-working areas and an auditorium, aimed at businesses of different sizes as well as freelancers and remote workers.
Its location close to Praia da Rocha and the Portimão Marina is expected to make it particularly attractive to professionals looking to combine work with the region’s lifestyle.
The opening comes as demand grows for flexible workspaces, with companies increasingly offering employees the option to work from different locations. Businesses using the centre will also be able to customise their office layouts to suit their needs.
According to Jorge Valdeira, managing director for IWG Portugal, the new space reflects the Algarve’s evolving economy. “The opening of the HQ in Portimão reflects the evolution of the region as an increasingly diversified economic hub, where sectors such as tourism and services coexist and generate new business opportunities,” he said. “Within this context, it is essential to provide working solution that follow this trend, allowing companies to operate with greater flexibility and proximity.”

He added that “this space was designed to respond to different stages of company growth, combining modern work areas, complete infrastructure and a strategic location, near important areas of economic activity.”
Valdeira also believes that the new space will help increase Portimão’s “attractiveness as a destination for talent and investment, offering conditions that promote productivity, well-being and a greater balance between work and quality of life.”
The project is part of IWG’s wider expansion in Portugal, where it already operates 28 facilities.
