New €45 million resort set for Algarve’s Golden Triangle

Work on the new Fonte Santa Resort began in September last year with completion slated for December 2026.

A new €45 million resort has been announced for the Algarve’s Golden Triangle, which includes Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo, and Vilamoura.

The Fonte Santa Resort will be developed by Lisbon-based HP Invest, part of the Harland and Poston Group, which primarily develops projects in residential real estate, hotels and services. The group was founded in 2017 by UK investors David Poston and Gary Harland.

Since then, the group has expanded with several offices in different countries including Portugal, China, Greece, the UAE, and the United Kingdom.

The Fonte Santa Resort will be on an estate that will feature a three-storey, four-star hotel with 160 one-bedroom and two-bedroom rooms.

Located close to Trafal and Vale do Lobo, the resort will cover a gross construction area of 6094,73 square metres. Work began in September 2024 with completion slated for December 2026.

HP Invest is currently in negotiation with a number of hotel groups to manage the hotel, although the company has yet to divulge which well-known groups are involved.

The resort will be designed by Beyond Architects and aims to integrate seamlessly into the landscape, featuring extensive green and carefully planned open-air areas.

The construction of Fonte Santa Resort will be led by a consortium comprising RVP and the Heartland and Poston Group using traditional methods with a reinforced concrete structure which, in the opinion of the developer, will result in a robust and quality structure.

The resort will also employ solar panels and water recycling systems, including the collection and storage of rainwater and treated wastewater to water the extensive gardened and green areas.

The project has also been passed by the appropriate environmental entities. In terms of leisure facilities, the resort will have two swimming pools (707m2), a fully-fitted gym, restaurant, bar, and a 224m2 space for business meetings or events.
