Low-cost airline easyJet has been awarded the right to fly the route between Gatwick, England, to Moscow, Russia, following a decision by Britain’s Civil Aviation Authority. Rival carriers British Airways and Virgin Atlantic also made applications to gain the route. “We believe that our flights will be popular with both business and leisure travellers alike. easyJet is proud to have won the rights to fly the route,” easyJet Chief Executive Carolyn McCall said. The airline will begin flying two services a day on the new route from spring 2013.
