Portimão is set to host a celebration of music and singing with the second ‘Festival da Voz’ (Voice Festival) this Friday and Saturday (October 3-4).
The event, organised by the Grupo Coral de Portimão (Portimão Choir Group), will be held at two of the town’s landmark venues – the Colégio church and TEMPO municipal theatre.
The festival will begin on Friday, October 3 at 9pm at the church with a concert by the Barlavento Ensemble, directed by Maestro Cristóvão Silva and featuring soprano Mariana Picado alongside the choir group.
On Saturday, festivities continue at TEMPO’s grand auditorium which will host performances by four choir groups – Coro da Aldeia, Grupo Coral Adágio, Grupo Coral da Sertã, and hosts Grupo Coral de Portimão – alongside fado singer Oriana Dias.
Entry is free on both days, although tickets for the TEMPO concert must be collected in advance from September 30.
