Residents of São Brás de Alportel are being invited to give their opinions on the municipality’s Climate Action Plan, which is currently open for public consultation until January 20.
The plan is described by the local council as a “strategic document that aims to set actions and measures to face climate change in the municipality, reducing its effects and preparing the territory for future challenges”.
Developed by the municipality’s Environment and Climate Change Division, the plan is intended to serve as a strategic guide for local climate policies. The public consultation process is being carried out under Portugal’s Climate Framework Law, which requires public participation in the development of local climate strategies.
The municipality is encouraging residents, associations, institutions and other stakeholders to submit suggestions, comments or observations that can be considered in the final version of the plan.
The document is available for consultation online on the São Brás de Alportel municipal website in PDF format and can also be viewed in person at the Citizen Support Office during normal opening hours.
Written contributions must be submitted by January 20, either by email to ambiente@cm-sbras.pt, with the subject line Consulta Pública do PMAC (Public Consultation on the PMAC), or by post to the municipality’s address (R. Gago Coutinho 1, 8150-151 São Brás de Alportel).
