After nearly a decade away, Sting is returning to Portugal. The iconic British singer-songwriter will perform a single concert on July 17, 2026, at Praia do Relógio, in Figueira da Foz, as part of his global “Sting 3.0” tour.
Promoter Tiago Castelo Branco, director of MOT – Memories of Tomorrow, told news agency Lusa that the concert will take place on the same site which will be used just days earlier for the RFM Somnii electronic music festival.
“The opportunity arose to host a concert of this size at sunset, in Figueira da Foz, on a beach. And this is what also sparked the artist and his team’s interest in accepting this challenge,” the promoter told Lusa.
The 74-year-old artist – real name Gordon Sumner – will perform in a trio format, joined by long-time guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas, offering what promoters describe as an “intimate and powerful” reinterpretation of his classics.
The show promises a journey through nearly 50 years of music, from his early days with The Police – with hits like Roxanne, Every Breath You Take and Message in a Bottle – to his solo career, which includes timeless songs such as Fields of Gold, Fragile, and Englishman in New York.
Sting’s return comes nine years after his last Portuguese concert, at the Marés Vivas festival in Vila Nova de Gaia in 2017. Since his first appearance in Portugal back in 1993, the 17-time Grammy Award winner has built a loyal following among Portuguese fans.
“We’re talking about one of the greatest artists of his kind in the world,” said Tiago Castelo Branco.
Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday at 10am at stingportugal.pt, priced at €60 for standard entry and €120 for VIP access.
