Street food fest celebrates 10 years in Lagos

Foodies in the Algarve are making their way over to Lagos as the town gets ready to host what organisers call “Portugal’s biggest street food festival” from Thursday to Sunday (July3-6) at Jardim da Constituição.

Returning for its 10th edition, the event will feature over 30 food trucks and top chefs dishing up local and international flavours.

Highlights include “unique local experiences like OystersExperience and Olhá Bolinha,” organisers say, while festivalgoers can also enjoy “popular national favourites like Caipijocas, Piadina’s, and Trinkaki, and returning international vendors such as Freshrootz — straight from the UK with their vegan delights.”

The festival will also host special guest chefs, such as Vítor Claro, chef and winemaker of Dominó, and Adrien Godreau, chef and owner of the restaurant Amorizade.

There will also be plenty of entertainment for children, including bouncy castles, trampolines, photobooths, and prize giveaways.

“Over the past decade, this event has grown in extraordinary ways, becoming much more than just a food festival — it’s a gathering of flavours, cultures, and our community,” said organiser Maria Lemos.

“Organising the Lagos Food Fest over these ten years has been an incredible and deeply rewarding experience. Seeing people come together around food, music, and shared moments is what keeps me going. This year will be special — full of surprises and memories worthy of the occasion,” she added.

Lagos Food Fest runs from noon to midnight and entry is free.
