Swan Lake is returning to the Algarve on May 26, this time with a performance by the Ukrainian State Ballet at Faro’s Pedro Ruivo Auditorium at 9.30pm.
A total of 30 dancers will be taking to the stage to present Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet about an impossible love affair between a prince and a beautiful swan.
While hunting, Prince Siegfried sees an amazing swan. As he takes aim to shoot, the swan turns into a beautiful woman. The woman, Odette, tells the prince that she is a princess who has come under the spell of an evil sorcerer.
Swan Lake is considered to be one of the most spectacular displays of classical ballet.
