St. Patrick’s Society of the Algarve Putting Competition

The hotly contested Helen Cafolla Trophy was played under beautiful sunshine

On Friday, February 20, the St. Patrick’s Society of the Algarve hosted a putting competition and lunch at the Balaia Golf Club in Albufeira.

The event, attended by 47 members and friends, was a great success, partly due no doubt to what has become a novelty in the Algarve – a beautiful sunny day (after successive storms)!

The hotly contested Helen Cafolla Trophy was won for the second year in a row by Jerry Campion with a score of 36 strokes. The runner-up was Jim O’ Reagan, just one stroke behind on 37.

The next Society outing is the flagship event of the year, the annual Dinner Dance to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Penina Hotel and Golf Resort on Friday, March 13, at 7.30pm.

Anyone interested in attending should contact Mary Vaughan, Secretary: st.patricks.society.algarve@gmail.com
