Twelve Ombria Golf members enjoyed a day of sporting spirit and social fun, finishing their tournament with tapas and wine tasting in a stunning vineyard setting.
Members of Ombria Golf enjoyed a sociable and competitive get-together on March 11, when 12 players teed off in a friendly Stableford tournament.
With pleasant company and sporting spirit setting the tone for the day, it was Hillary Jessup, who claimed first place with an impressive 36 points. Close behind was Sharon Henderson, who secured second place with a solid score of 31 points.
One of the standout moments on the course came at the notoriously challenging 7th hole, where John Balvers rose to the occasion to win the Nearest the Pin prize.
Following the tournament, members were treated to a memorable visit to Quinta da Tôr winery, in Loulé. Set in a stunning location surrounded by rolling countryside, the venue provided the perfect setting to relax and unwind after a morning of golf.
Guests enjoyed a selection of delicious tapas accompanied by a wine tasting experience. Although the winery’s inviting swimming pool proved tempting, the cooler temperatures meant that most preferred to admire it from a distance.
Friendly and attentive staff ensured everyone felt welcome, contributing to the warm and relaxed ambience that made the afternoon particularly enjoyable.
Ombria Golf’s regular get-togethers are open to members and their guests, offering a wonderful opportunity to combine golf, socialising and discovering some of the Algarve’s most beautiful venues.
A range of membership packages is available to suit golfers of all abilities. They help support their local community and sponsor charities such as Santa Barbara Animal Help.
