Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa is preparing a special night of golf on Saturday, March 28, as part of this year’s Earth Hour.
Now in its 18th year at the resort, the initiative is part of a global effort by Hilton hotels to raise awareness about environmental issues while also supporting local causes.
The main event will be a charity night golf tournament at the Pinhal Golf Course, running from 7pm to 10pm. Around 24 players are expected on the course, with another 18 taking part in a putting competition.
Registrations are open, with the €30 entry fee going entirely to the Algarve Oncology Association (AOA).
Guests staying at the hotel will also be invited to take part, with the highlight being the symbolic switch-off of lights in common areas, leaving only essential lighting on.
“Earth Hour is a very special moment for all Hilton hotels, as it allows us to involve guests, staff and the local community in a common cause. At Hilton Vilamoura, we always try to link this initiative to events that also have a social impact, strengthening the hotel’s connection to the region and to organisations that play a fundamental role in the community,” said hotel manager Miguel Afonso dos Santos.
Special lighting will be set up across the course to ensure players can enjoy the night-time experience safely.
The evening will end with a social gathering and prize ceremony.
