Swordfighting, culture and fun in Barão de São João

A weekend of swordfighting, culture and fun is promised in the rural village of Barão de São João.

Starting on Friday, December 6, the event is designed to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the Júlio Dantas Library in Lagos. It will be held in the little primary school in the village, now given over as a library space.

Aside from an historical exhibition running until March next year, there will be all sorts of activities, including swordfighting, fire-juggling, archery and story-telling by the fire. Trips round the village and talks are also planned.
The three-day event starts on Friday after 4pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 10.30am.
