TAP launches new route between Porto and Terceira (Azores) and bolsters Funchal

TAP will start flying between Porto and Terceira in the Azores from March 29 next year with four flights per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays). On the same date, the airline will also increase the number of flights between Porto and Funchal (Madeira) from 14 to 18 per week.

The Porto-Terceira flights will be carried out using A320neo aircraft with a capacity for 168 passengers, says TAP in a communiqué.

The flights are scheduled to depart from Porto at 3.20pm, arriving on the Azorean island at 5pm; and, in the opposite direction, they leave Lajes airport at 5.50pm, to land in Porto at 9.15pm (local time).

Meantime, the Porto–Funchal route will gain four additional flights per week, also on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight departs from Porto at 12.10pm, arriving in Funchal at 2.15pm, and returns from Cristiano Ronaldo Airport at 3:05pm, arriving at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport at 5.05pm.
