Vilamoura Marina continues to blow Portuguese competition out of the water
Vilamoura Marina has once again claimed the title of ‘Best Portuguese Marina’, taking home the top honour at the 2025 Publituris Portugal Travel Awards for a remarkable 14th consecutive year.
The award, presented on Thursday, July 3 at the Vila Galé Collection Elvas Hotel, highlights ongoing customer satisfaction, high-quality nautical services and infrastructures, and strong commitment to innovation and sustainability, according to a statement released by the marina.
Portugal’s first marina of its kind, Vilamoura remains the largest in the country, with 825 berths, a fully equipped shipyard, and a professional sailing training centre. It also serves as a venue for major national and international events, including regattas, Olympic team training camps, and the annual Vilamoura Marina International Boat Show.
This year’s win follows the recent launch of the ‘New Vilamoura Marina’, a major expansion featuring three new pontoons and 68 berths for large yachts between 20 and 40 metres, equipped with the “latest technology”.
The award also coincides with a landmark moment for the marina: the celebration of its 50th anniversary.

“We are extremely proud to receive this distinction, which reflects the trust that both industry experts and the public place in the quality of our infrastructure and services,” said Isolete Correia, CEO of Vilamoura Marina. “This award is especially meaningful, as it significantly contributes to the visibility and international profile of Marina de Vilamoura. I would also like to extend a word of appreciation and congratulations to the other nominees for the important work they have done in promoting Portugal as a leading destination in recreational boating,” the marina boss added.
Nominees for the Publituris Travel Awards were selected by the publication’s editorial team based on work carried out in 2024, innovation, media presence, and other industry benchmarks.
The award-winning marina in Vilamoura has also received many international accolades over the years, most recently being awarded as the 2024 International Superyacht Marina of the Year and International Sustainable Marina of the Year by The Yacht Harbour Association. Between 2015 and 2017, Vilamoura Marina was also hailed the Best International Marina of the Year among all marinas rated with ‘5 Anchors’. Its success story continued in 2019 before starting another three-year run with wins in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Last year, however, the title went to Portonovi Marina in Montenegro.
