Water inspires new AAN exhibition in Portimão

The Algarve Artists Network (AAN) is hoping to make waves this summer with its powerful new exhibition “Planeta Azul – Blue Planet’, opening Saturday, July 5 at the Portimão Museum.

Running until September 28, the exhibition brings together striking works by this long-established group of artists, highlighting both the beauty and the fragility of our home planet. From tranquil oceans to dwindling rivers, the pieces call attention to the urgent need to protect the Earth’s precious water sources.

“Without water, no life is possible,” say the artists behind the exhibition – and this is the clear message woven through every canvas.

Visitors can expect a mix of thought-provoking and visually arresting works that reflect the network’s deep concern for environmental sustainability, particularly the state of our oceans, lakes, and rivers.

The museum is open on Tuesdays from 2.30pm to 6pm and Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
