The Angels Theatre Group, which entertains for charity, is presenting its latest production at the historic Lethes Theatre in Faro on November 2 and 3.
The shows will benefit the Faro Red Cross and their Home Service Support, a project which helps families in distress.
The show’s storyline revolves around a group of retired actors and singers holding a reunion dinner at The Ritz in Paris. The various characters are portrayed through a selection of songs written by the talented Cole Porter.
Cole Porter was an American composer and songwriter, born in 1891 to a wealthy family in Peru, Indiana.
A classically-trained musician he was drawn to musical theatre, achieved great success in the 1920s and became one of the major songwriters for the musical Broadway stage.
His many musicals include ‘Anything Goes’ and ‘Kiss Me Kate’. His numerous songs include such hits as ‘Well Did You Evah!’, ‘I’ve Got You Under My Skin’ and ‘You’re The Top’.
He also composed scores for such films as ‘High Society’ and ‘In The Still of the Night’.
A cash bar will open on the Saturday at 7pm and on the Sunday at 2.30pm. Curtain up at 8pm and 3pm for the matinee.
