Algarve 41 Club continue their support of local Algarve charities that are dedicated to providing much needed services and assistance to local residents with a donation of €500 to Algarve Emporium Charity. The presentation was made by the current Algarve 41 Club Hon. Secretary, Mike Trice.
The primary role of Algarve Emporium Charity is to obtain and supply food to people in need in Tunes. This is a massive commitment costing more than €500 per week.
This is only made possible with cash donations, selling goods that are donated by their supporters and holding a variety of fun events. More than 86 families have been helped since they began over five years ago.
Each food bag contains fresh meat, vegetables, fruit, eggs and milk, plus a selection of tins and dried staples, toilet paper and one other item they can select. They also offer clothes, linens and household goods to the families.
The success of Algarve Emporium Charity relies entirely on a dedicated team of volunteers who happily donate their time and energy to assist people less fortunate than most and Algarve 41 Club members are happy to support them with this cash donation.
If you feel you can help in any way, you can either visit the Algarve Emporium Charity distribution point located between the Lines Bar/Café in Tunes, every Friday between 11.30am and noon, or email: algarveemporium@gmail.com
Initially, membership of 41 Club was restricted to Ex Round Tablers, but the Association is now happy to welcome those who have never been in Round Table, of which our current Secretary, is one. If you are resident on the Algarve, have a property here or you are an Ex Round Tabler, or 41 Club member in the UK, who frequently holidays in the Algarve, come and visit the Algarve 41 Club at one (or both) of their monthly meetings.
Those interested will be made very welcome and may even decide to become a member of the club.
