Algarve wines promoted at Faro Airport

Two-day campaign showcases Algarve wines to international travellers

Algarve wines will be promoted at Faro Airport this Wednesday and Thursday (April 1-2) in a bid to showcase the growing quality of the region’s local wines

The goal is to promote regional wines among both national and international visitors as they arrive in the region.

Taking place in one of the airport’s main passenger areas, the event will provide travellers direct contact with local producers and products at the start of their stay in the Algarve.

The initiative is organised by the Algarve Wine Commission (Comissão Vitivinícola do Algarve, or CVA), which is responsible for certifying and promoting wines produced in the region. It comes at a time when the Algarve wine sector continues to record steady growth. In 2024, production reached a record of around two million litres, reflecting what officials describe as increasing maturity and development within the industry.

According to the CVA, its work has been central to improving visibility for Algarve wines, both in Portugal and abroad, through certification, promotion and branding initiatives.

The campaign forms part of a wider 2026 promotion plan designed to strengthen the visibility of Algarve wines and reinforce their identity in a competitive market.
