European Council President, António Costa, offered US President, Donald Trump, a Portugal football jersey signed by Cristiano Ronaldo during a meeting held on the sidelines of the G7 Summit on Monday (June 16).

The jersey, bearing Cristiano Ronaldo’s name and his iconic number 7, was autographed by the player himself, along with a handwritten message: “To President Donald J. Trump. Playing for peace.”
The gesture was captured in photographs shared by Costa on his official X page.
The meeting took place in Canada, where leaders of the G7 – including the United States, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Canada – gathered to address key global issues, including security, economic cooperation, and the situation in the Middle East.
In addition to his meeting with Costa, President Trump held a separate conversation with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, arranged at her request, according to the White House.
