The launch of a new book written by Carolyn Kain, titled Portugal and the British, Six Centuries on Stage, was held in the ‘Old Gallery’ at São Brás Museum recently.
Involving an ongoing theatre project, the book includes scripts and photographs from nine previous plays also written by Carolyn Kain.
Linked together by text, the nine plays cover 600 years of Portuguese history and particularly the country’s links with Britain.
It provides an interesting insight into the period and the scripts written in rhyme are often amusing and sometimes rather shocking!
The next production to be performed at the Museum by The Random Players includes a cast of twelve and is truly experimental theatre, entitled ‘Salazar, the Musical – the Rise of a Dictator’ – March 11-12-13, 2026.
