On Christmas Day, December 25, there will be a Catholic Mass in English at 10.15am at the Igreja de Santiago in Tavira, East Algarve. This is a great opportunity for anglophone residents or tourists who wish to celebrate Mass in their own language on this special day.
The parish of Tavira is home to a growing English-speaking community of Roman Catholics from all over the world, including North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and continental Europe.
English Masses are celebrated every Sunday at 10.15am, as well as on certain feast days, including the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, on January 1, 2026.
The community extends a warm welcome to everyone this Christmas, including those who are not Catholic or Christian.
