Catholic mass in English will be held this Sunday, January 18, at 4pm at the chapel on the cliffs (Ermida da Nossa Senhora da Encarnação) in Carvoeiro – this is the monthly English Mass.
The celebrant will be Padre Nuno Coelho, our parish priest. Padre Nuno is going the extra mile to serve the international community through these Masses in English. He also adapts his mass to include any French speakers present.
Madeleine Wheare of Carvoeiro Catholics says: “If you are looking for a meaningful celebration of your Catholic faith, in English or French, please join us. Everyone is most welcome even if you do not normally attend this church.”

There will be a retiring collection for the Lagoa Food Bank to support over 100 families in need at this time.
This mass will be in addition to the chapel’s usual Saturday evening Mass at 5.30pm (in Portuguese). This English Mass (normally the third Sunday of every month) does not replace that.
