Monte Santo Resort in Carvoeiro will celebrate Easter with a series of special dining experiences and activities for families.
On April 3, the resort will mark Good Friday with a special buffet at the Aroma Restaurant, featuring traditional dishes enjoyed during the festive season. The menu includes a variety of salads and starters, followed by main courses such as octopus à lagareiro – a Portuguese method of roasting octopus with a generous amount of garlic-infused olive oil – served with sweet potato; monkfish stew with shrimp; oven-roasted leg of lamb; pork medallions with mustard sauce; and cauliflower moqueca (stew). The buffet is priced at €36 per adult and €18 per child, with drinks not included.
Celebrations continue on April 4 with a Portuguese-themed dinner, also at the Aroma Restaurant, highlighting classic national cuisine. Starters include suckling pig croquettes with garlic and herb mayonnaise or caldo verde soup. For the main course, guests can choose between bife à Portuguesa (Portuguese-style steak), cod à lagareiro with bimis and smashed potatoes, or Portuguese-style seitan with sautéed potatoes. Dessert options include sericaia (a soufflé-like Portuguese pudding) with plum jam or sliced fresh fruit. The dinner costs €34 per adult and €17 per child, excluding drinks.
Younger guests will also have their own Easter programme at the resort’s Kids Club between March 31 and April 4. The activities, designed for children aged four to 12, include painting an Easter mural, an egg hunt, making rabbit tiaras, a theatre workshop and storytelling sessions.
