Charity golf day a swinging success for Santa Barbara Animal Help

The next fun day is at Ombria Golf Course in June

Golfers gathered at the Benamor Golf Course in Tavira on Sunday, May 25, for a special charity tournament in support of Santa Barbara Animal Help (SBAH).

With the first tee time at 09:20, players enjoyed a “fantastic day of golf, sunshine, and community spirit” – all for a meaningful cause.

At €80 per person, including a buggy, the event offered great value while raising vital funds to support SBAH’s work rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned dogs across the Algarve.

The tournament was a great success, thanks to the generosity of participants and sponsors. Every swing helped give vulnerable dogs a second chance at a happy life. Special thanks go to Susan Martin for organizing the day and bringing people together in support of animal welfare.

Congratulations to Susan, Alex, Eddy, and Alan for coming first in this Texas Scramble, and to Graham for nearest the pin.

One of the charity’s main sponsors, Ecology, also used the opportunity to do some good on and off the course. They enrolled a couple of new clients to their range of natural fish oils and supplements – with all commissions donated directly to SBAH. It’s a healthy and effective way of fundraising that benefits both people and pups!

Susan organises these events for the last Sunday of each month at a different golf course each time. Any level of players is welcome. The next fun day is at Ombria Golf Course on Sunday, June 29. Please contact her on 918 435 448 if you would like to join in.
