A Christmas Recital organised by Lagoa cultural association Ideias do Levante is taking place in the town’s chapel of Convento S. José on December 7 at 9.30pm.
The event, which has the support of Lagoa Câmara, will feature Carla Pontes (soprano), Ana Nemchynova (piano) and Fábio Neves (trumpet), who will interpret a repertoire based on works by Caccini, Handel, Jeremiah Clark, Mozart, Purcell and Vivaldi.
The chapel seats 100 people and the concert is recommended for adults and children over six year of age. Tickets cost €6 for the general public and €3 for Ideias do Levante members, those under 18 years of age and the over 65s.
Meanwhile, Ideias do Levante, in a partnership with the Câmara, is organising a Christmas Concert at the church in Porches on December 16 at 5pm.
Coral Ideias do Levante, conducted by Francisco Brazão, will be performing on the day.
The choir was founded in 1996 and quickly became one of the highlights of Ideias do Levante. It often performs alongside illustrious artists and groups and, since November 2003, has been under the artistic direction of Professor Francisco Brazão.
