Two charity events over the next two weekends will be raising funds for the Albufeira Voluntary Bombeiros (BVA).
The first event is a Solidarity Fair this weekend (December 1 and 2) at the BVA Pavilion from 10am to 6pm. Visitors will be able to purchase new and used items at bargain prices, from clothes, shoes and toys to household items, food and school supplies. Funds raised will go towards the Albufeira Social Canteen and Portuguese Red Cross. Entrance to the fair is free.
On December 8, the ‘Festa Albufeira Solidária’ is taking place at the Heaven nightclub in Oura from 8pm. There will be dance shows, hairstyle demonstrations by Algarve hairdressers and a book launch by Portuguese author Sérgio Brito. Entry cost is €10 and children under 14 enter for free.
The events aim to help the Bombeiros help the needy of the Algarve.
Plastic bottle tops
The Bombeiros are also calling on the population to deliver plastic bottle tops to their headquarters in order to enable them to purchase wheelchairs for the needy.
