A burst of extreme wind caused damage in the western Algarve early this morning, hitting farm buildings but leaving no people injured.
The incident took place in the Boeira area in the parish of Budens, part of the municipality of Vila do Bispo.
Authorities received the alert at 7.54am through the regional command of the National Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC).
Records from the Portuguese Sea and Atmosphere Institute (IPMA) show that the powerful burst of wind occurred between 6.10am and 6.29am.
The incident damaged two agricultural warehouses and nearby equipment. A metal sheet was torn loose and struck a sheep, injuring it. The animal is being treated by the municipal veterinarian.
Despite the damage, no people were hurt.

Emergency services were deployed quickly, with the municipal civil protection system activated immediately to ensure a coordinated response.
Teams on site include the Municipal Civil Protection Coordinator, the local civil protection service and the Bombeiros de Vila do Bispo, who are assessing the damage and providing support.
Local officials, including the mayor and the parish council president, are also at the scene monitoring the situation.
Authorities say the situation has been stabilised, with work now focused on assessing the damage and gradually restoring normal conditions.
