FATACIL: Lagoa expects thousands for Algarve’s biggest summer fair

FATACIL attracts around 20,000 visitors per day

The countdown has begun for FATACIL, Lagoa’s flagship summer event. Now in its 44th year, the event is described as the “biggest event south of the Tejo River” and is famous for shining the spotlight on local crafts, food and businesses, as well as hosting concerts by many of Portugal’s most popular musical acts.

The fair – beginning on Friday, August 22 and running until Sunday, August 31 from 6pm to 1am – will host around 700 exhibitors from all over the country. There will also be three stages with live performances, a special Fun Zone for children, horse shows, street entertainment, and plenty of traditional Algarve food and drinks to enjoy. According to the local council, the goal of the event is to bring together everything that makes Lagoa and the Algarve special, all in one place.

Organisers expect the event to pull around 20,000 people per day, making it one of the Algarve’s biggest summer events.

Tickets can be bought online at fatacil.bol.pt, or at several physical locations including CTT post offices, Fnac, Worten, the Balcão Único in Lagoa, and at the fair itself. A regular day ticket costs €5, a family ticket (for a group) costs €16, and a full 10-day pass is available for €30. Children aged 12 and under can enter for free if they show a valid ID.

This year’s musical line-up features several top Portuguese acts. Fernando Daniel will be the first headlining performer to take the main stage on August 22, followed by an 80’s party, Festa M80, on August 23, Badoxa on August 24, Nininho Vaz Maia on August 25, Wet Bed Gang on August 26, Van Zee on August 27, Quim Barreiros on August 28, Matias Damásio on August 29, Delfins on August 30, and Mariza on August 31.

Meanwhile, the municipal council will raffle 800 double invitations for entry on August 24, the Municipal Day of Lagoa.

The council has revealed the conditions behind the raffle:

  • Being a resident of the municipality of Lagoa. Proof of residence will be required when collecting the ticket, with a valid ID and an official document showing your address (e.g. recent water, gas, electricity, telecom bill, or fiscal residency certificate in Lagoa).
  • Being over 18 years old as of August 16, 2025.
  • Answering correctly the question(s) made available through the daily online form (running August 16–22).
  • Correct answers will then be entered into a draw to select the winners of each daily contest.
  • Each participant may only receive one double invitation throughout the promotion.
  • Participants should also consult the official rules of the competition.

Winners must collect their passes in person at the Secretariat of the Municipal Fair and Exhibition Park, between August 18 and 24, from 9am to midday and 2pm to 6pm. A valid Citizen’s Card and proof of current residence in the municipality will be required.
