The Banda Filarmónica da Casa do Povo de Alcantarilha has confirmed that it will play for the participants at the start of the Armação de Pêra Father Christmas Walk tomorrow (December 1) at 11am.
The Banda Filarmónica da Casa do Povo de Alcantarilha was formed in December 1977 and currently has about 25 musicians.
Making this event even more enjoyable, the band will play some of the songs from their repertoire, welcoming all participants and making the official opening of the event, which will support the Food Bank, helping to raise food for the poorest.
Commencing at 11am, two trainers from Fit Gym will lead the walk and finish it off with relaxing exercises.
Organisers, the Holiday Inn Algarve, are inviting everyone to take part in the walk and help the Food Bank with the collection and distribution of food.
Please bring your donation. Preferred items are olive oil and milk cartons, but all dried food will be accepted. Alternatively, you can leave your donation in cash with one of the representatives of the Food Bank who will take part in the walk. Those wishing to attend should meet in Armação de Pêra, opposite the Holiday Inn Algarve, dressed in a Father Christmas outfit.
There will be no entry charge, just donations for the Food Bank.
