February may be the shortest month of the year but that won’t slow things down at the Algarve International Circuit (AIA).
Three competitions will take place at the Portimão racetrack throughout the month, bringing GT cars, prototypes and single-seaters to the track.
The highlight comes early in the month with the 6 Hours of Portimão, which opens February with endurance racing and strong competition. Scheduled for February 7 and 8, the competition is reserved for GT3 and GT4 cars and will be the first long-distance race of the year. It is also the only endurance event on the Winter Series calendar, with several brands and models expected on the starting grid. The race schedule takes drivers into the late afternoon, with the Algarve circuit’s well-known sunset providing the backdrop.
Racing continues on Valentine’s Day weekend, from February 13 to 15, with the Ultimate Winter Cup. This three-hour endurance race brings the championship’s exclusive prototypes back to the Algarve.
The month closes with the F4 Spain Winter Series, running from February 20 to 22. The winter championship returns to the Algarve with young drivers from several countries, many of them recently promoted from karting. With their sights set on the path to Formula 1, they are expected to deliver intense and closely fought races.
Tickets for all races can be purchased through the racetrack’s official website.
