The five-star Monte Santo Resort in Carvoeiro has just announced its festive programme for Christmas and New Year. Combining tradition with exceptional cuisine, the festivities commence on December 24th and continue through January 1, culminating with the New Year’s Brunch.
Christmas Eve Dinner on December 24th features a four-course menu including a mixed platter of appetisers, cod with potatoes, cabbage and cornbread, and lamb with creamy rice and rosemary. The dessert celebrates the Christmas spirit with pumpkin French toast, honey, walnuts, and cinnamon ice cream, accompanied by “Bolo Rainha” and pumpkin fritters (vegetarian options available).
To celebrate the season, Christmas Lunch on December 25th offers a festive selection of flavours, including prawns with garlic and coriander, sea bream fillet with fresh vegetables, and turkey with chestnuts and aromatic jus. To finish, there is the traditional orange cake with citrus syrup. Lunch options include a vegetarian choice and a children’s menu. (Lunch or dinner: €50 per adult and €25 per child, drinks not included).
On December 31st, Monte Santo Resort hosts a magical evening with live music, superb cuisine, and midnight fireworks. The event starts with a welcome cocktail, followed by dinner with live entertainment. Main courses include monkfish with herb risotto and rump steak with shallots and asparagus, ending with a chocolate, red fruit, and caramel dessert (vegetarian and children’s options available). Drinks include Barranco Longo Grande Escolha Branco and Herdade da Candeeira Tinto, along with soft drinks, coffee, and tea (€170/adult and €85/children up to 12).
For a delicious start to the year, on January 1st, the resort offers a special brunch featuring a selection of hot and cold dishes. The menu’s highlights include a platter of regional cheeses and cured meats, hot dishes prepared to order, and “conventual” sweets. Hot and cold drinks include coffee, tea, natural juices, and sparkling wine. (€30 per person/€15 for hotel guests).
