Final hearing

Garry Mann, the former fireman from Kent who faces extradition to Portugal to serve a two-year prison sentence for his part in a riot in Albufeira in 2004, was granted a last-minute reprieve by the High Court in England on April 29.

He had been due to fly to Portugal on Wednesday this week to begin his prison sentence but will have a final chance to avoid extradition during a hearing today (Friday).

Jago Russell of Fair Trials International said: “We hope the High Court will take this opportunity to deliver justice to Garry.”
