Lagoa Câmara distributed a total of 200 Christmas hampers to the neediest families in the council between December 10 and 12.
In order to minimise the hardships caused by the economic crisis, the municipality, through its social action departments, has ensured a brighter Christmas for the local underprivileged families, “but particularly for the elderly and children”.
Hampers were distributed in all five parishes of the council, with the Câmara admitting that social assistance is becoming a more difficult task in present times.
