HPA Health Group hosts Portugal’s largest event for pregnant women

7th National Symposium for Pregnant Women returns to Olhão this September

The HPA Health Group, in partnership with BebéVida, will host the 7th edition of the National Symposium for Pregnant Women on Saturday, September 27 at the Hotel Real Marina in Olhão. Recognised as the largest national gathering dedicated to expectant mothers and future parents, the event is expected to attract hundreds of participants for a morning of “sharing, learning and connection”.

Building on the success of previous editions, this year’s symposium brings together specialists from the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department at HPA Gambelas, alongside invited experts, exhibitors and partner brands, providing a “comprehensive and interactive space for those experiencing pregnancy.”

The programme will cover key topics for a healthy and safe pregnancy, including appropriate monitoring during pregnancy, the importance of foetal movements, birth planning, postnatal care, vaccination, and breast health. Practical sessions will also explore breastfeeding, coping techniques to ease discomfort, and even the often-overlooked role of foot health during pregnancy.

Alongside the talks and workshops, participants will have the chance to enjoy 4D ultrasound scans (available by appointment), explore interactive exhibitor stands, and receive a range of gifts prepared especially for future parents.

“With this event, the HPA Health Group reinforces its commitment to healthcare by promoting quality information, proximity and trust throughout one of the most important stages of life,” the group says in a statement.

Registration for the 7th National Symposium for Pregnant Women is now open online.

Founded in 1996, the HPA Health Group has grown into one of the leading private healthcare providers in southern Portugal, with hospitals and clinics across the Algarve, Alentejo and Madeira. Meanwhile, BebéVida, founded in 2005 and based in Porto, is Portugal’s only private stem cell bank with its own laboratory. The company specialises in the collection, processing and storage of umbilical cord stem cells, offering families the possibility of preserving these valuable cells for potential future medical use.
