The wine list features natural Portuguese and European labels
A new space has recently opened in Caldas da Rainha, Central Portugal. Intervalo is a wine bar and shop dedicated to natural, low-intervention wines from small producers. The concept is “all about slowing down and drinking better”, say the owners.
The project is a partnership between Ivo Gil and Rodrigo Martins, winemaker of Espera Wines, and it offers a “highly curated selection of honest, vibrant wines — many of them hard to find in the traditional retail circuit”.

Located in a calm street in the city centre, Intervalo is both a tasting destination and a wine boutique. “The atmosphere is relaxed and soulful, designed for people who enjoy authenticity, conversation, and discovering the stories behind each bottle,” say Ivo and Rodrigo.
The wine list features natural Portuguese and European labels, served alongside small bites and good music. The shop next door offers take-home bottles, thoughtful recommendations and insights into terroir, winemaking and the craft behind every producer.
