Production || Dorothy has to find her way to the emerald castle of the Wizard of Odd – and all she has to do is follow the Yellow Brick Road; or Saffron Brick Road to Enlightenment, in Aperitivo Performance Group’s rather ‘Odd’ version of the well known Wizard of Oz story.
But poor Dorothy – along with the heartless Tin Man, the foolish Strawman, the cowardly Lion and her Granny Toto – get hopelessly lost on their journey after the Wicked Witch of the West tempts Granny Toto into her castle with offers of unlimited red wine and chestnuts.
But help is at hand from the wandering Musician and the Elegant Elf of the East. There are those who may quibble that the Elegant Elf of the East is possibly a little short, or stout, or mature to be truly Elegant, but then true elegance knows no limitations and – look kid, do you want my help or not?
Aperitivo has moved to the comfortable Cine-Teatro in São Brás for some performances of this show, which features inventive costumes against colourful sets.
