3,500 visitors celebrated Portugal’s winemaking heritage
Organisers are celebrating another successful Lagoa Wine Show, whose 2025 edition attracted 3,500 visitors to the town centre between June 6 and 9.

For four days, the event turned the centre of Lagoa into a festive hub of wine, culture, and gastronomy, showcasing some of the best wines made in Portugal, from the Algarve’s increasingly popular winemakers to the famous Douro and Alentejo regions, as well as Dão, Lisbon, Setúbal and Bairrada. The country’s distinct ‘Vinho Verde’ (Green Wine) was also displayed at the show, alongside wines from international guest countries such as Moldova and Georgia.
Apart from the wine tastings and masterclasses led by experts, the Lagoa Wine Show also featured a wide range of food stalls, pairing the country’s finest wines with traditional Portuguese flavours.
One of the standout features of the program continues to be the “Fado à Janela” performances, where Fado singers perform from open windows or balconies. Meanwhile, a lineup of acclaimed live acts, including Buba Espinho, Entre Aspas, Para Sempre Marco, and Dino D’Santiago, also brought further musical flair to the event.
The municipal council of Lagoa, which organises the event, says the Lagoa Wine Show has established itself as a signature event for the borough, acting as a powerful driver of local tourism and economic activity, while also shining a light on the region’s culture, people, and traditions.

The council also expressed deep gratitude to all who helped make the event a success, from exhibitors and partners to technical teams, staff, and the many guests who filled the streets.
