The Tempest by William Shakespeare is being performed by the Lisbon Players from November 29 to December 16 at the Estrela Hall Theatre in Lisbon.
Prospero Duke of Milan is cast away with his daughter to a remote island. Twelve years later his “potent Art” raises a tempest that shipwrecks his enemies on to the island. Looking for retribution he finds forgiveness.
Shakespeare’s farewell play is a painful and humorous journey of acceptance, compassion and love.
Performances will be held on November 29 and 30 and December 1, 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 9pm, on December 5 at 7.30pm and on December 9 and 16 at 4pm.
The Estrela Hall Theatre is located at Rua da Estrela, 10.
