Lagoa will once again be transformed into a stage of illusion and wonder as it hosts its International Magic Festival, Lagoa Magic Fest ’25, from October 9 to 11.
The event brings together six international magicians under the artistic direction of local illusionist Paulo Cabrita. For three days, the festival will spread across the municipality with street shows, school visits and performances in local institutions.
Three illusionists will perform free PopUp street shows at different spots in Lagoa, with each magician presenting two acts per day. The first Pop-Up shows will take place on Thursday, October 9 at 10.30am in Estômbar (municipal garden), Mexilhoeira de Carregação (main square) and Parchal (Che-Lagoense square), and at 2.30pm in Carvoeiro (beachside square), Ferragudo (R.D. Leonor square), and Lagoa (5 de Outubro garden). The last round of street shows is scheduled for Friday, October 10 at 10.30am at Lagoa’s municipal market and Porches’ Matriz church.
The highlight of the festival will take place on Saturday, October 11 with the Grand Gala at the Carlos do Carmo auditorium, where all six magicians and their assistants will take the stage for an evening of magic.
Entry to the street shows is free. Tickets for the Gala cost €10 (with discounts available for holders of the Municipal Cultural Passport) and are available online and at official ticket outlets, including CTT, Fnac, Worten, Carlos do Carmo auditorium, São José cultural centre and the Balcão Único at Lagoa town hall.
